Trans Continental Airlines began flying in 1975 as International Airlines Academy, which provided contract cargo flights, primarily for the auto industry, and changed its name in 1977. The company began passenger charters in 1989 and suspended these flights on October 8, 1990. Cargo operations continued until January 1992 when the airline was sold.
